Four ways to refresh your career path this spring

Spring is a time to refresh and renew – not just your home or your style, but your career, too.

Here are four ideas that could create some real growth opportunities for you this season. Keep this reflection light – it’s not meant to be heavy!

1. Clarify direction.

Write a “What I want more of/less of” list for your work.
Revisit (or write!) your values. List the values that show up strongest in your work.
Choose one way to align more with what matters most personally and professionally.

2. Reenergize your current role.

Identify tasks that energize you and plan to do more of them.
Identify tasks that drain you and explore delegation/automation options – or maybe that task is no longer necessary!
Audit your meetings to remove or revise what no longer serves you.

3. Connect with your direct manager on your career vision.

Revisit your long-term direction. What still fits? What doesn’t?
Prepare some questions to ask in your next 1:1, such as: “Where do you see opportunities for me to grow this quarter?” or "What strenghts of mine are most visible to the organization?"
Request feedback from a few people who see your work closely.

4. Celebrate wins.

Create a “Spring Wins List” of accomplishments since the beginning of the year
Look back on (or start saving!) thank you notes, feedback or shout-outs.
Don’t forget to take time to celebrate others, too.

We hope these ideas will turn spring into a forward-looking moment for you in your career.
