been here for four and a half years. After spending time in the military, coming
out of the military I didn't have much of a career sight and I had a friend that
worked at a bank, so that's how it became my career, is I started as a teller and
kept working.
All the way from the C level down to my current manager and everybody in between supports family values first. Get your job done, but make sure you're allocating the right amount of time to your family. It's been great having the autonomy to make our own decisions as far as vacation goes, time away from work to maybe spend with a sick kid or a doctor's appointment, things like that.
What has suprised me most about Commerce is the family aspect of it, certainly never thought a corporation the size of Commerce would have such a family driven environment. The culture runs through the veins of all the employees at Commerce. Everyone's given the
opportunity to be themselves at work, whatever that might be, however that
might be.
Commerce really provides you with an opportunity to grow into whatever career you would like. Commerce doesn't get in the way, they encourage it, and that's from the top down. They want you to grow with the company. They want you to stay around. A lot of the tenure is 20 years plus, and it represents the family aspect and the opportunities to continue to grow. I've
learned a lot since I've been at the organization in four and a half years. I've
had lots of opportunities, generous opportunities. It really just brings out the
best and wants you to do a little bit better each day.
