Amy Bommarito

Hi, I'm Amy Bommarito. I'm a Strategic Planning Analyst in Retail.

I came to Commerce becuase I'm a Commerce Bank customer, my parents are customers and we always had great experiences with our bankers over the years. They were always so friendly and helpful, so I thought it must be a great place to work.

I started as a Branch Supervisor in Cape Girardeau where I had incredible coaching and leaders who invested in my development. I was encouraged to go back to school to get my MBA in Management with Commerce Bank's help. While relocating our family to just outside of St. Louis for my husband's job, I was able to leverage the relationships I'd built with leaders in the St. Louis Branch Network to promote to Branch Manager. While I was a Branch Manager I took an active leadership role in one of our employee resource groups, presented in various capacities and championed culture across teams. I had a peer recommend I look at a role that was posted thinking I would be a good fit and it really was the most rewarding and fulfilling job.

During that transition from Branch Manager to Retail Strategy & Communication Leader I participated in our Retail Learning & Development program which couldn't have come at a better time and now I'm excited to be in the Leadership Development Program offered by our Team Development Team. And I know this is just the beginning!

What I love most about working at Commerce are the opportunities - to develop, to network, to collaborate, and make a difference.

What I find most rewarding in my work is telling stories that connect team members to the meaningful work we do for our customers and the bank.

What surprised me most about working at Commerce is the fact that I was able to come here with NO prior banking knowledge or experience, but have my skills and strengths appreciated and fostered to be able to contribute in meaningful ways.
