Brian Ferguson

Hi, I'm Brian Ferguson. I'm a Team Lead in Business Banking. 

I came to Commerce over 10 years ago because of the people I knew that already worked here. My view from talking to them, was that Commerce was the best bank in the city. It also was attractive that we have a large home office here in St. Louis, my former employer at the time did not have that option.

What I love about working for Commerce is the people and culture.  The organization truly cares about their employees – my leadership has always been great to me, which makes it easy for me to be loyal back. For me, its all about relationships. I have several best friends here at work.  

The biggest surprise working at Commerce is the culture. You see it in action from the top down. How many places do you get to interact with Executive Management in the elevator or grab a cup of coffee? I also appreciate their willingness to engage in the day to day operations to help you be successful.

What I find most rewarding in my work is meeting new people and learning about their business. I say it all the time my job is great because I get to see how so many different people from diverse backgrounds, make a living. It will never not be interesting. In the same day you can meet an entrepreneur, have lunch with a CPA, deal with an attorney on a loan, and fund a business' expansion. If you have never visited a manufacturing or distribution plant, I would highly encourage it, there is nothing better than getting a tour from an owner and seeing their passion for what they do -- it's extremely energizing.

What would I say to others about working here? I would ask them what they are waiting for!
