My name is Chris Tanos. I have been with Commerce Bank for over 20 years and I'm a manager of our specialty healthcare implementation team.
I had no idea I would ever work at a bank. I just was looking for a new opportunity, a
new career, and I had a friend that had a friend here at the bank that she put
me in contact with and I talked to them about an opportunity here. What I was
looking for in an organization was somewhere that was really going to support their team members, really have a good culture and environment with
everybody that's working there.
One thing that I noticed when I came to the bank was that everybody was here willing to help. Commerce wanted to see everybody succeed, and all the people that you were working with wanted to see you succeed, too. You never felt like you had to figure out anything on your own. You always had somebody to go to talk to, find out what you needed to find out, and get assistance with whatever you're trying to achieve.
What I like about being part of the team at Commerce is that we are all in this together. Everybody has their part that they need to accomplish with whatever we're working on but what I noticed at Commerce is that every team member is willing to pick up and support you and help you with what your part is, too.
The reason I've stayed with Commerce is the people. It's the community that I have built here. I've really enjoyed seeing how Commerce Bank has grown and continues to look at what's the best for their employees, trying to really focus on keeping them around and keeping us all happy, and having a great culture. You just don't get that in every organization so it is really refreshing that they don't get stuck, They're always looking for the next
thing and the next way to support all of our team members.
