The best part of working at Commerce is really the culture, the people and the opportunity to grow. I have the opportunity to really of take stock in my own style and the way that I interact with individuals, and it's really one of the things that keeps me here.
You can learn your skill almost in any other company, but the ability to do it in a
setting where you enjoy the people around you and you're continuing to foster and
support your own personal growth, that's something you don't get in many companies.
Commerce has enabled me to really think more broadly about the type of career that I want. For a long while, I always aspired to just continue to move up the leadership levels within an IT job family.
I always saw that as my journey, even as I was starting to work in IT. That's not what I
see myself as now. I see the ability for me to move into lots of different areas of the
company as I have interest. This is one of the few companies that I've ever worked for where you'll run across individuals who've been here 20, 25, 30, 35. I've never, even for my parents or my grandparents, I've never heard of anyone that stays at a company that long.
When you work here, you can kind of understand why, because they really care about you as an individual. They really help your development. You don't get stagnant. There's very few triggers for you to look outside of going to work somewhere else
because everything that you're looking for professionally and personally is already here.
