"I love bringing people together and creating experiences that help people connect. That's a big part of who I am, and it carries over into how I lead and work with others every day."

Hi, I'm Tamara Lackland, Retail Group Manager for the North Group. I'm a parent of three young men, and I've been with Commerce for over 20 years. I'm definitely a people person and love building relationships. I enjoy helping others grow, whether that's my team, our customers, or partners in the community.

When I'm not working, you'll probably find me spending time with family and friends, trying a new restaurant, or planning some type of gathering or event. I love bringing people together and creating experiences that help people connect. That's a big part of who I am, and it carries over into how I lead and work with others every day.

I chose to work at Commerce because I enjoyed working with people and had a passion for customer service. When I started as a part-time teller, I didn't necessarily see it as a career, but that changed quickly. As I learned more about the company, built relationships, and was given opportunities to grow, I realized Commerce was a place where I could build a future. Twenty years later, I'm grateful for the career I've built and the people and experiences that have shaped my journey.

What I like most about working at Commerce is the people. Whether it's helping an employee grow in their career, building lasting relationships with customers, or partnering with organizations in the community, those connections are what make the work meaningful to me. Commerce has provided me with so many opportunities to learn, grow, and give back over the years, and that's a big part of why I've enjoyed building my career here.

For me, the most rewarding part of my work is developing people. There's nothing better than helping an employee grow, overcome challenges, and achieve goals they may not have thought possible. I also value being part of a team where we support one another, collaborate, and celebrate successes together.

I think the biggest surprise has been realizing how much there is to be a part of at Commerce. There are opportunities to grow professionally, serve in the community, build relationships, join different initiatives, and learn and engage with people across the organization. I don't think I fully recognized that when I started, but it's one of the things I've enjoyed most about working here.

I would tell someone that Commerce is a great place to build a career. The company provides opportunities to develop your skills, advance professionally, and create lasting relationships with both colleagues and customers. It's a culture where people are encouraged to grow and succeed.
